OAI-PMH interface

The AppDB software catalogues are also accessible over the OAI-PMH protocol at a dedicated endpoint. The exposed metadata are available in the DC and DataCite formats, following OpenAIRE’s Guidelines for Software repositories for applications and virtual appliances, and records are peristently identified by HANDLE PIDs.

Hierachical list-sets are also supported, where the top-level set corresponds to the record type (application / VA), while the next-level sets correspond to the categories defined for each type.

The AppDB OAI-PMH endpoint may be useful to aggregators and to repository managers who want to enrich their metadata. As an example, OpenAIRE Explore and AppDB both make use of each others OAI-PMH interfaces to exchange and synchronise records.
