What is the VMCaster/VMCatcher Toolset?

VMCatcher is a tool which allows users to subscribe to Virtual Machine Image Lists. It may also perform the following functions:

• cache the images referenced by an image list,
• validate signed image lists against a X.509 public key,
• validate images contained in a list against SHA512 hashes,
• provide events for other applications to update or mark as expired, or otherwise process changes to virtual machine images without having to further validate the images in question.
